The Olympic Ring on Montjuïc was the centre and main sporting area of the 1992 Olympic Games. In this area, connected by plazas and stairs, we find the main sports facilities: the Olympic Stadium and the Palau Sant Jordi. Nearby are the Bernat Picornell Olympic swimming pools, where the swimming and water polo competitions were held.

Also nearby is the city’s other communications tower, the Calatrava tower, designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava.
